27 February 2023 | 3 mins read Dr Hen Says & National Eating Disorders Association Announces Joint Collaboration for Eating Disorders Awareness Week

27 February 2023 Dr Hen Says and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) are proud to announce a collaboration to raise awareness about eating disorders and combat common misconceptions during Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW), February 27 – March 5.

28.8 million Americans experience an eating disorder at one point in their lives. Eating disorders are often misunderstood by the public, and support options can be inaccessible. Education about eating disorders plays a vital role in decreasing the stigma around them.

“The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is thrilled to be partnering with Dr Hen Says during this year’s Eating Disorders Awareness Week. Dr Hen helps to make science and health accessible,” says Sarah Chase, the Vice President of Communication at the NEDA. “The stories and characters are relatable to a broad, global audience and the complex themes are presented with thoughtful compassion. Dr Hen helps patients, parents, and guardians become more engaged with their physicians, to ask more informed questions, and to help create improved relationships with better understanding and outcomes.”

“Spreading awareness about the realities of eating disorders is the first step towards decreasing this stigma,” says Dr Hen. “Together, we can help those living with eating disorders feel more comfortable about seeking help.” The posts will be published on various platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
